This booklet contains a transcription of the Land Tax Assessments for the Borough and Three Hundreds of Buckingham compiled in July 1788. Arranged by parish or hamlet, each record contains the name(s) of the proprieter(s) or landowner(s), the name of the occupier(s) and the amount due. The Three Hundreds of Buckingham included the parishes of Addington, Adstock, Akeley, Barton Hartshorn, Beachampton, Biddlesden, Caversfield, Chetwode, Edgcott, Foscote, Gawcott, Hillesden, Leckhampstead, Lillingstone Dayrell, Maids Moreton, Marsh Gibbon, Padbury, Preston Bissett, Radclive cum Chackmore, Shalstone, Steeple Claydon, Stowe, Thornborough, Thornton, Tingewick, Turweston, Twyford, Water Stratford and Westbury and the hamlets of Bourton, Bourton Hold, Lenborough and Prebend End (in Buckingham), Charndon and Pounden (in Twyford) and Cowley (in Preston Bissett).
